Laser Therapy

Laser therapy has emerged as a powerful tool in the field of regenerative medicine. At Missoula Osteopathic Clinic, we integrate laser therapy in our holistic approach to healthcare, offering patients a safe and non-invasive method to alleviate pain, reduce and promote healing. We utilize a powerful, class IV laser to stimulate cellular processes. The non-thermal light energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed by cells. Unlike traditional lasers used for cutting or ablating tissue, therapeutic lasers operate at specific wavelengths that promote cellular function without damage or pain.

How does it work?

Laser therapy operates on the principle of light absorption by the mitochondria, the energy producing components of cells. When cells absorb this light energy, several beneficial processes occur:

  • Increased ATP production: Light therapy enhances the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), promoting faster healing and regeneration
  • Reduced Inflammation: Laser therapy can modulate inflammatory processes, helping to decrease swelling and pain without blocking healing as anti-inflammatory medications do.
  • Enhanced Tissue Repair: The stimulation of cellular activity encourages tissue regeneration and repair, making it beneficial for recovery.
  • Pain Relief: By influencing pain pathways and reducing inflammation, laser therapy can effectively alleviate acute and chronic pain.

Over multiple sessions, laser therapy can combat chronic pain, promoting circulation and regenerating of tissue.

Benefits:

  • Non-invasive and safe
  • No side effects
  • Versatile pain treatment: can treat: chronic pain, sports injuries, neuropathy, inflammatory conditions, and more
  • Complementary with other Osteopathic and Regenerative treatments: enhancing overall treatment outcomes

We provide innovative and effective treatments to help our patients achieve optimal health and wellness. Laser therapy represents a significant advancement in our approach to regeneration. If you are seeking a holistic and effective solution to your pain, we invite you to call the office and make an appointment with Heather Kelly PA-C.

The brand of therapeutic laser used in the office is a K Laser Speciale Plus. K Laser was the first laser of this type to gain FDA approval in 2005. The Speciale Plus model is the most high tech, powerful laser of this kind on the market.

Free Radicals Definition

Free radicals are unstable molecules that damage any tissue in the body they come in contact with.

This causes a cascade of tissue damage and inflammation. Inflammation itself generates even more free radicals.

Anti-oxidants such as glutathione, vitamin C, D, E and K, as well as many others, stabilize the free radicals and therefore stop the tissue damage, the cascade of damage and the resulting inflammation.

Congratulations! We are so happy to hear that!

Would you be willing to provide more information on your story? Questions may include: How long were you living in pain? How did you treat pain that did not work? What were the repercussions from those attempts? What finally worked for you?

This will aid us in getting the word out about the kind of help that is available for people and research. No identifying factors or personal information will be used.
